The hunchback of San Rafael

For some reason, I like to draw at a flat table instead of the usual tilted "drafting table." One of my co-workers commented that I would end up with a hunchback, and looking like Abe Vigoda (Fish on Barney Miller) from hunching over and drawing all day. Soon after, this drawing was born...

I have the same problem-I prefer drawing on a flat surface, although I have tried the drafting board only a few times.
Do you have trouble gaining proper perspective with the flat surface like I sometimes do?
Great toon.

Hi anonymous,

Yeah, I've never had that problem, but I do shift things around to make sure that I don't. I can see how it would happen.

I also prefer a flat table.
In fact my real preference is laying down on the floor.

Mark me down as "flat boarder" as well. Drawing on a tilt always seems unnatural to me, but my back hurts like hell after extended drawing sessions when I go flat. Perhaps, flat is not where it's at.

Personal ramblings aside, the drawing rocks.
