Running

I was doing some quick sketches of girls running, and I realised that everything I was drawing was a pushed animation or comic version of a run with the character really working it. I decided to do a drawing that was more of an actual pose you would see someone hitting on an evening jog. This was the result. My first attempt at inking with a brush (well brush pen) and it's crummy. I'll post a better one later...

I think it is very solid. It has a natural feel to it and I think the composition helps.

Your character is running at a good pace and shows such a natural stride. Your line work and facial expression makes it work. I find that difficult to pull running poses off as well. Too many tend to look like they are about to tackle a cement pillar or about to hit a long jump. Can't wait to see more.

Thanks Guy.

Gerald - About to tackle a cement pillar, HA! Good one, that's exactly what I was thinking, but was unable to express it as a coherent thought.

Oh I don't know - I think the brushwork is not too shabby at all mate.
