Head of the day. A little something I started posting on twitter again.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year internet.

This was 2010's Christmas Card.

I'll leave it up to you whether Santa is actually on fire, or pulling a prank on this little kid.

Lady of many hats

Drove by a lady dressed like this in LA last weekend.

She may have had more hats on than I have drawn.

Sweary Bear

Warwick J C's Sweary Bear.

I was lucky enough to board this commercial for Laika House after my time at Laika Entertainment was up working on their next feature.

The Commercial was directed by Ringan Ledwidge with awesome animation direction by Mark Gustafson.

Test post

In honour of Toby Cypress' Luke Cage story in next month's Strange Tales I drew my own old school Luke Cage.

This is also a test for a new posting method. Experience the technology.

Anthology 451 for sale ONLINE!

Hey everybody. It has been a busy month and a half since I last posted. I started a new job, copies of ANTHOLOGY 451 finally arrived, and I just got back from APE in San Francisco last weekend. It was a great time meeting everyone, and the launch of the book was a blast. Craig, Kris and I had so much fun as we experienced our first time behind the table.

If you're interested in getting a copy of the anthology yourself, please click on the book cover on the right side of my blog, or head over to Gallery Nucleus' site and pick up a copy.

Hopefully I can get back to focusing on Nun With Two Guns soon, and make some more comics!

I'll try and do a post soon on the different versions of the cover I designed. The final version was #61, so there are quite a few to go through.

Baby comic

Eric and his wife had a baby, so I drew a comic. Usually things don't go so well for Eric in these little comics (other than the comic where he got to punch me in the face), but since he had a kid, I thought he should come out on top.

Interestingly, he gets to punch another fellow named John in this comic.

Trend?

I think this is the first comic I have done entirely digitally. Drawn in Photoshop, toned in Manga Studio.

INFLUENCES

A fun and interesting INFLUENCES MAP Meme has hit the internet like wild fire, and I have totally jumped on the bandwagon.

It all started HERE (I think.)

Check out some other cool ones by

WJC
Jonathan Edwards
Glyn Dillon
Tonci Zonjic

I'd recommend hunting down more. I've even discovered new artists because this internet craze.

I spent WAY too much time on mine. I think I could do an entire OTHER map just for filmmakers, but you can see I crammed a few into the corner there.

For the most part, these are current influences, mixed with a few that have lasted from my youth. Some day, when I have more time, I'll gush about these folks, and the folks I couldn't fit on here.

ANTHOLOGY 451

I am VERY proud to announce the impending release of ANTHOLOGY 451!

This is a comics anthology that I have been working on with some friends for the past 3 years!

It is 120 pages B&W interior art, with a colour cover that you can see below.

Artists involved besides me are:
Craig Berry
Rodolphe Guenoden
Robin Joseph
Viktor Kalvachev
Kris Pearn
Mike Thomas (MT)

You can see links to their blogs and sites in the links on the right of this blog. They all did an AMAZING job.

The anthology will be debuting at APE (Alternative Press Expo in San Francisco) this October, it will be available for online purchase soon after that.

Here's the WEBSITE and there is also a FACEBOOK GROUP you can join for updates.

Big Red Night of the Dead

I did the poster for KUPD's BIG RED NIGHT OF THE DEAD show in October. If you find yourself in Phoenix, you should go, the DEFTONES will be there!

Hopefully they'll do another similarly themed concert next year, because 3/4 through the making of this one, I came up with a MUCH better idea.

Igneous Eternal

My good buddy Jon McNally had a 15th wedding anniversary party and was nice enough to invite my wife and I to the festivities. This is a painting I did as a a gift for them.

Finally got back to colouring the first issue. Here's a page, since I don't think I've shown anything "whole" yet.

Birthday

There was a time when I did a tonne of birthday drawings. Not so much any more, but I did this for my wife's b-day today. This was inspired by my buddy Clarke Snyder, and my wife's current interest in cupcakes.
